Jain et al. described the delivery of nanopore sequencing to the genomics community (1). One of the more complicated genomic regions on chromosome 6, is the area of the human Major histocompatibility complex (MHC). The human leukocyte antigen (HLA), the human equivalent of the MHC, plays a major role in the immune defense against pathogens such as viruses and bacteria.
