
Carolina Oi Lam UNG, PhD

Dr. Carolina Ung is currently the Macau Fellow (Lecturer) in the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences at the University of Macau, and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Sydney School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney, Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Health Science (Health Informatics) at The University of Sydney, Australia, and obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Macau. She is a registered pharmacist in Australia and Macao, and had practiced as a pharmacist in Australia between 2001 and 2005 and worked at the Macau drug regulatory department as a drug evaluator between 2006 and 2017. In 2013, she initiated her research work on the safe and appropriate use of traditional/complementary medicines, and has expanded her research work towards drug-related policy and regulation, health systems management, and pharmacy practice. She has published more than 20 scientific papers on related topics in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr Ung is also a founding member and the Secretary General of the Pharmaceutical Society of Macau.
